The idea that there are no absolute moral truths to guide humanity is rampant in modern society. On Feb. 27, Jack Rigert from the John Paul II Renewal Center, will give a presentation in Anchorage entitled “Speaking Truth in an age of Moral Relativism.”
Rigert is a co-founder of the John Paul II Renewal Center, which works to share the sacred meaning of human love and life contained in the teachings of Saint John Paul II.
While attending graduate classes at the Catholic Theological Union where he studied scripture and early church history, Rigert came across the teaching of Pope John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body.” It changed his life. He went on to study at the Theology of the Body Institute under Christopher West, Dr. Janet Smith, and Dr. John Grabowski, among others. Rigert now presents Theology of the Body presentations to groups of all ages. He is also a frequent guest on Relevant Radio and Radio Maria.
Hosted by the Anchorage chapter of Catholics United for the Faith, the upcoming event is free and open to the public. It will take place Thursday, Feb. 27, in the upper room banquet hall at Gallo’s Mexican Restaurant in Anchorage (8615 Old Seward Hwy.). The talk begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. for those who wish to order food and drinks. The evening will include a 45-minute presentation, followed by a question and answer session until 8:30 p.m.
